This is the story of Oliver Thompson and Dorothy Jones. Oliver, a naval officer in World War II fell in love with a young Dorothy in Liverpool, England. From war-torn England to starting a family in South Africa, their love story spans seven decades and is an inspiration to anyone who wants to build a lasting relationship.

Oliver, the youngest of 12 children lost his father at age ten and had to move around to assist family members in exchange for lodging. Dorothy was the second youngest of 11 children and experienced much suffering and loss during the war. Their love and the family legacy they built bound them together and forged a set of family values that live on in their many descendants today.
